Born in 1977 to Dave and Elbi Basson, Shawn grew up in ministry, experiencing the culture of revival and church planting since a young age.

He studied at the Rhema Bible Institute in Johannesburg South Africa and worked as youth and student pastor at various ministries in the Gauteng Province after graduation.

During 2007 he relocated to Cape Town to help his father with the new church plant of Kingdom Light Church with various campuses across the Western Cape Province.

In 2015 after serving faithfully, Dave handed over the reins of the ministry to Shawn and he became the new visionary leader of KLC. Shawn operates in the ministry gift of teaching and the prophetic. He is also an author and a passionate musician who strongly believes in Spirit filled worship.

Dave and Elbi Basson got saved in 1982, and right from the start felt the call of God on their lives. They were involved in ministry in the Pentecostal movement, as well as revival under some of the great evangelists of that time.

They experienced the move of God and the great outpouring of the Spirit in South Africa and were very involved in youth ministry, leading various youth groups across South Africa. In 1991 they moved to the small town of Malmesbury, located 70km north of Cape Town in the Western Cape Province. It was here where the Spirit led Dave to start planting churches in the Boland area. During this season an incredible outpouring of the Spirit was experienced that touched many lives.

In 2005 Kingdom Light Church was planted in Strand.

Dave is a prophetic teacher and the spiritual father over the Kingdom Network. He actively continues in ministry and ministers into the lives of and mentors many young pastors and leaders.

Claudia has grown up in ministry. Her parents, Dave and Elbi have been involved in ministry since they got saved in the 80’s. After studying at the Rhema Bible Institute, she ministered as a youth leader. Two years later, she went into full time ministry as a youth pastor.

In subsequent years she has developed in videography and photography and all things media. Claudia is a talented and anointed worshipper and musician. She has faithfully served in Kingdom Light Church since it was planted in 2005.

Claudia leads the multimedia department, which is seeing exponential growth and provides administrative support to the ministry. She also provides key operational support to the Senior Pastors of our church.

Peter and Adéle grew up in church under parents who were in ministry and have both always been actively involved in various ministry activities. As seasoned worship leaders they had the privilege of leading worship in one of South Africa’s greatest healing revivals from early 1990’s to mid-2000’s whilst leading & managing the first South African based Christian television channel.

Peter is passionate about teaching the Word of God and spreading the gospel via broadcast platforms. To this end they are at the forefront of KLC’s livestream department as well being actively involved in the worship teams.

They have known and supported the Basson family in ministry for almost two decades in various ad hoc way’s, and at the end of 2016 were led by God to serve under the senior leadership at KLC in a permanent capacity.
